Day 27 – Rest day in Helena, MT

Had a nice rest day in Helena. Woke up at 8 AM ate breakfast at a local café. Came back to the hotel washed my clothes for the first time during the entire trip here at the hotel laundry. Went to the bike shop bought a rear light to replace the one I lost a couple days ago. Stripped down my bike, took it to the bike shop and used their hose to wash it off real good—got all the grit and grime out of the moving parts. Came back oiled and adjusted it. Then took a two hour nap. Shipped a box of goodies to Tori who is still at Furman doing some summer research. And I am now about to go eat dinner and then come back and pack everything up and get ready for tomorrow.

I’m headed to Lincoln tomorrow and it’s gonna be a tough day. I have 17 miles of climbing directly out of the gate here from Helena. I’ll be crossing the Continental divide twice between here and Lincoln. So I’ll be a tired individual by the time today is over tomorrow. But, got good rest and recover today so I’m ready for it.
